This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Nicholas Hand who was born on January 31, 1987 and passed away on August 03, 2008 at the age of 21. We will remember him forever. 

Nicholas passed away unexpectedly on 3 August 2008. Known as someone who “worked hard and played hard” he will be missed by all.

Always willing to help anyone at any time Nicholas was a true friend to many. Never one to sit idle he would work 60 hours a week and still have enough energy to be with his friends. Nicholas always had a big smile and could find humor in any situation.

Nicholas had plans for the future that included opening his own auto body shop so he could fulfill his passion of working on cars. He had a knack with vehicles and could work on them all the time.

Nicholas is at peace now, with “Nana” and his cousin “Aaron”…. "Our Family"

Nicholas will carry on through the Nicholas Hand Memorial Fund www.nicholashandmemorialfund.org in order to provide for other young men and women in the community.   

Nicholas enjoyed drawing and writing. Here are some of his writings:

There are two people that will always be there for me
All the wrongs, faults, destruction... everything
They will always be there & now I know that
This is never ending love

So now it's time for me to show you
The never ending doubts you had were right & changed me to be the loving & caring man I am
For time I will never have to see the other side, the side of fear, hate, sadness,
& not knowing.

I have seen the other side & you pulled me away to be the man I am today
And for that anything and everything can be done & if it wasn't for you I would be nothing

I have gave pain & suffrage to the people I love,
But I also paid the consequences...But, not the same way they did & felt.
I want to give back all the faults I caused and hope for forgiveness.
So hopefully what I can do, I will receive some of the grief that I can get rid of.

Nicholas was into art and liked nothing more than getting tattoos. One prominent tattoo he had was across his stomach and it said:

"Never Lose Faith"

To Nicholas this meant:

 If Tomorrow Starts Without Me....

If tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you care for me, and how much I care for you,
and each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready in heaven far above,
and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
for all life, I’d always thought I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for and so much yet to do.
it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, I thought, just for a while,
I’d say goodbye and hug you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow.
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity and all I’ve promised you,
Today your life on earth is past but here it’s starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last.
and since each day’s the same, there’s no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful, so trusting, so true.
Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do.
And you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free.
So won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?"

So if tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, please know I’m in your heart.
